NEIGHBORHOOD/BLOCKWATCH MEETING June 01, 2017

Started by George Langford on Saturday, June 03 2017, 10:41 am ·

Our city Neighborhood-Blockwatch Meeting was held on the above date at our City Hall. There were nine (9) Blockwatch Captains, and one (1) of our City Councilman in attendance.

Several topics were discussed including:
Fifth District Crime Trends.
Crime that was reported to LMPD.
An appeal for more residents getting involved in events such as Coffee With A Cop which is held every month at various locations within the Fifth Police Division.
A possible Phone Tree for the Blockwatch Captains.
A Blockwatch Captain needed for Middlebrook Road.
Speed Bumps for Walser Road.
Chief Heaton increase in hours for patrol in Woodlawn Park.

According to my records or what I can remember, our City had only two (2) crime reports made to LMPD since our last meeting in February. I told those in attendance that I was going to make a better effort to keep track of any crimes reported in Woodlawn Park for our next meeting in October, 2017.
