City Council Meeting Minutes

Started by ellen on Tuesday, August 13 2013, 09:04 pm ·

I do not understand why it takes so long for the council minutes to be posted on the website. Today is August 13, and the latest minutes are from the May meeting. Even if they have to be approved at the next meeting before being posted, there should not be a 2.5 month delay. With the advent of technology, it would seem like the proposed minutes could be emailed to the council members to be approved. By using that method, the council minutes could be posted within a week of the meeting. This would be much more efficient, and would ensure that residents were updated in a timely manner.

By law, the City Council meeting minutes must first be approved by the City Council at the regularly scheduled City Council meeting and like for example, last nights meeting, minutes were approved from the July 2013 meeting. Minutes are normally posted on the Tuesday morning following the City Council meeting. Minutes are posted on the city web site, under city info, under city archives, and then under Council Meeting Minutes. This is the quickest way we can post the minutes.

Contrary to your comment, the June 2013 minutes have been posted online since July 16, 2013.
